Daily Gadyal

Srinagar, 5 March: The shopkeepers union of Maisuma called for an unprecedented shutdown in response to the traffic police action taken against the wrong parked vehicles.

The shopkeepers accused the cops of misbehaving with the shopkeepers and the customers whose vehicles were towed on war foot basis to clear the roads.

The shopkeepers were seen raising the slogans against the SSP traffic on hampering their business operations in the area.

“They don’t want us to prosper and live a normal life as we shopkeepers are always left in lurch on one pretext or other, ” said an agitated shopkeeper of the area.

He said that apart from towing the vehicles the goods were also taken by the cops.

“Where should we go as we have been operating from here, since decades. As most of us are dealing with quick car servicing, and its accessories and how can we render our services without inspecting the vehicles, he further added.
