Shadipora police post arrested Two Drug peddlers, large contraband substance recovered FIR registered.

Ganderbal 23rd Feb:Under the concerted efforts undertaken by SSP Ganderbal Shri Nikhil Borkar-IPS to eradicate the menace of drug abuse prevalent in the society and taking stringent action against the drug peddlers, Ganderbal Police today during a routine naka laid by DO Shadipora Shri Ashiq Husssain near Shadipora bridge found two persons passing by in a suspicious manner who were asked to stop but instead following the instructions of police officer, they tried to flee.

However, they were intercepted on spot and subjected to frisking 24 No. of Bottles of Codine Phosphate were recovered from their possession. The two accused were arrested on spot and have been identified as:
1. Mohd Yaseen Ganai S/O Bashir Ahmad Ganie and
2. Mohd Younis Ganie S/O Mohd Rafiq Ganie both residents of Arampora Sumbal .
In this regard ,case FIR No. 40/2022 under relevent sections of law was registered in PS Ganderbal and investigation taken up.

Ganderbal Police is committed to eradicate the deadly menace from the district and such action will continue in future and general public is appealed to cooperate with Police by way of sharing inputs related to drug peddling so that appropriate action is taken against the drug peddlers.
