Current situation of Kashmir Press Club is worrying: Editors Federation

Srinagar/17 Jan: A meeting of the Editors Federation of Jammu and Kashmir was held online under the chairmanship of Muzaffar Khan, which lasted for a long time.

The opinion prevailed in the meeting that the Editors’ Federation should stand with the Jammu and Kashmir-based democratic community of journalists. In the meeting, the unfortunate incident of the previous day was declared as tragic.

‌ Since the Kashmir Press Club elections have already been delayed for six months and the body which was elected in the elections was operating the Press Club illegally which creates the problems to the journalists to raise their problems.In the meeting it was observed that we should support the three member interm Body headed by Senior Journalist and founder President of KPC Mohammad Saleem Pandit.The Editors Federation of Jammu and Kashmir insists that The Kashmir Press Club (KPC) elections should be held immediately before the commencement of this democratic process. The Interm body of Kashmir Press Club (Kashmir Press Club) should formulate a plan of action for holding elections in Kashmir. Editors Federation Jammu Kashmir is confident that the Interm body will run the KPC in a disciplined manner and will arrange for elections to be held in a democratic manner.
