Red Cross distributes relief among poor families at Kupwara

SRINAGAR, AUGUST 09: The J&K chapter of Indian Red Cross Society (IRCS) today distributed dry Ration items among the 42 identified needy families belonging to BPL category at Kupwara.

The IRCS, J&K as a part of its activities to support the financially weaker section of the society today organized a relief distribution camp at Batapora, Magam, Handwara in Kupwara district of North Kashmir.

The Camp was held under the supervision of G.A Qureshi, Honorary Treasurer, IRCS-J&K.

Qureshi on the occasion said that IRCS has been at the forefront during the Covid-19 pandemic in particular and other disasters in general.

He said, Red Cross has been reaching out to the poorer section of the society with essential items like ration supplies, medicines, hygiene kits, Masks, blankets, oxygen concentrators and relief in the form of cash as well.

Present on the occasion were Principal Govt. Boys Hr. Secondary Batpora, Lumberdar Batpora, Staff & volunteers of Red Cross and other prominent citizens of the area.
