Urged public not to undertake Machail Yatra as yatra has been cancelled this year; Appeals to adhere CAB
KISHTWAR, JULY 27:
Deputy Commissioner ( DC) Kishtwar, Ashok Sharma today hold a press conference and briefs media on Current COVID Care Scenario in the district here at Conference Hall of New DC Office Complex Kishtwar.
During press briefing he said that there are 43 active cases in the district, besides the positivity rate recorded upto 27-07-2021 is 1.77 % besides this during second surge 1815 positive cases out of 1874 positive cases
have been recovered from the virus till date with a remarkable declining trend in positivity rate percentage of 0.34% in this week.
He informed that out of 43 active cases, 05 patients are admitted in hospital whereas rest are under govt supported medical supervision.
Besides this, 06 micro containment zones still existed in 10 hamlets and 33 micro containment zones have been denotified so far comprising of 33 hamlets, he added
Regarding vaccination, the DC Kishtwar revealed that, as per the COWIN PORTAL out of 48706 persons above 45 years of age 47549 (i.e 97.62%) persons have been vaccinated so far and for the remaining 1157 persons ward wise/ Panchayat wise
teams have been constituted for the vaccination purpose.
Test, Trace, Treat strategy along with Tikka abhiyan are in place.
The DC said the only way to keep the Covid at bay is to follow the Covid appropriate behaviour and vaccinate yourself. He again appealed not to lower the guard against the Covid pandemic.
He further informed that in view of COVID-19 pandemic and in the larger public interest,
this year holy Annual Shri Machail Mata Yatra scheduled to start w.e.f 25th of July 2021 have been cancelled. however traditional religious/holy rituals to be performed following CAB (COVID Appropriate Behaviour).
He urged pilgrims/Yatris not to undertake the Yatra for Machail Temple.
