Banihal, July 26: A passenger died while 12 others sustained injuries after a tempo traveller collided with a truck on Srinagar-Jammu Highway in Banihal district of Ramban in Jammu and Kashmir on Monday morning.
Police sources told news agency Kashmir News Trust that a truck (JK13C-4760) driven by one Kabir Ahmed Khan of Rafi Abad Baramulla was on it’s way from Srinagar to Jammu. When it reached at Chamalwas Khatana Basti, the driver lost control and collided with Tempo (PB07BT-8324) which was coming from opposite direction.
The accident resulted in injuries to the passengers travelling in Tempo who were labourers from Bijnore area of Uttar Pradesh.
Sajid Ahmed who was referred to GMC Anantnag later succumbed to the injuries.
Twelve passengers who sustained injuries and are being treated at hospital have been identified as Tempo Driver Karan Jeet Singh, Gajinder Singh, Muhammad Ayoub, Satish Kumar, Mustaqeen Ahmed, Nazir Ahmed, Shah Nawaz, Shakeel Ahmed, Omesh Kumar, Akshay Kumar, Muhammad Anwar and Tahir Ahmed.
