Police recovers huge quantity of illicit liquor in Kulgam

July 11: Acting tough against the social crimes, Police have recovered huge quantity of illicit liquor in Kulgam.

Officers from Police Station Qazigund under the supervision of SDPO Qazigund Shri Govind Rattan-JKPS established a checkpoint at Churat Qazigund. During checking, two persons boarding the vehicle (Santro Car) bearing registration No. JK18-0933 after seeing the Police party left their vehicle behind and escaped from the spot.

During search officers were able to recover 556 Bottles of illicit Liquor & 40 tins of Beer from the said vehicle. Vehicle used in the commission of crime has been seized.

Preliminary investigation revealed involvement of two persons identified as Nisar Ahmad Dar son of Ali Mohammad Dar and Reyaz Ahmad Dar son of Ghulam Ahmad Dar both the residents of Churat Qazigund. Efforts are on to effect their arrest.

Accordingly, case FIR No. 172/2021 under relevant sections of law has been registered in PS Qazigund and investigation into the matter has been initiated.

Community members are requested to come forward with any information regarding anti social elements in their neighbourhood. Persons found indulging in anti social activities will be dealt as per law.
