DGP sanctions meritorious scholarship of over Rs. 7.30 lakh

Srinagar, 06 July: With an aim to inculcate competitive spirit among the wards of J&K Police personnel, Police Headquarters is running scholarship schemes meant for the wards of police personnel who are academically meritorious. These scholarships act as reward for these students.

 Taking this endeavour further, the Director-General of Police, J&K, Shri Dilbag Singh has sanctioned meritorious scholarships in favour of 147 wards of serving Police personnel vide an order issued by PHQ.

 As per the order over rupees 7.30 lakh has been sanctioned in favour of 147 wards who have excelled in the annual examination of class 10th during the academic session 2020-21. The amount has been sanctioned out of the Central Police Welfare Fund.

Seventy-one wards who have secured 90% and above marks have been given meritorious scholarship of rupees 6000 each. Similarly, 76 wards who have secured 80% and above marks have been rewarded with the meritorious scholarship of rupees 4000 each.

 Police Headquarters has been sanctioning meritorious scholarships/scholarship, and DGPs special reward for the wards of martyr, deceased, and serving Police personnel/SPOs for their academic achievements and also for assisting financially the wards of martyr/deceased lower subordinates.
