Haiderbeg, 24 June 2021. To celebrate the 50th anniversary of India’s historic victory over Pakistan in May war which resulted in creation of a new nation, Bangladesh and arouse passion and patriotism, the Swarnim Vijay Mashal originating from the National War Memorial Delhi is being carried to all military stations and field formations. The Swarnim Vijay Mashal was received in Haiderbeg Sector on 24 June 2021.
Zainakot Battalion welcomed and paid homage to Swarnim Vijay Mashal by wreath laying at Zainakot Battalion War Memorial. Subsequently, A victory rally on Cars and bikes was taken out by locals Kashmiri youth enroute National Highway-1 and, the Swarnim Vijay Mashal was welcomed by the Awaam and School children, civil dignitaries, ex-servicemen, 71 War Veterans and the soldiers of the 10 Sector Rashtriya Rifles.
Thereafter, the Swarnim Vijay Mashal with entourage moved to Parihaspora wherein a grand scale painting competition was organised on the theme of Swarnim Vijay Varsh and more than 150 children participated in the event. At Haiderbeg War Memorial, the Swarnim Vijay Mashal was paid homage by Wreath Laying by Cdr, Headquarters 10 Sector Rashtriya Rifles and DIG CRPF, DIG North Kashmir, ESMs, Veer Naris and other civil dignitaries. After two days of events, the victory flame was passed to Headquarter 7 Sector Rashtriya Rifles for its onward journey. The complete event was conducted abiding to strict COVID-19 protocols.
