He said the administration and line departments are working together to resolve all the issues which will further expedite the road construction work in near future.

The DDC said the road infrastructure is important to enhance the connectivity across the district besides giving convenience to public commuting on these roads. He said this while reviewing the progress of the PMGSY sector in a meeting with officers and engineers of PMGSY, revenue and other concerned departments here at Dak Bangalow Khanabal.

The meeting was one among a series of such meetings and field visits conducted by the DDC during the last few days with the purpose to upscale the progress of the PMGSY sector in the district.

Dr. Singla directed the officers of PMGSY to effectively utilise the current working season and complete the ongoing/ pending works in a time bound manner for larger public interest. He called for greater coordination among the line departments for removing the remaining bottlenecks.

Expressing satisfaction over the progress of work on ground, the DDC passed fresh directions to revenue authorities to continue cooperating with the PMGSY officers for sorting out the pending revenue issues associated with these roads.

Exen PMGSY, Khalid Mehmood informed the meeting that 14 km road length has been completed in this season so far and roads are being constructed under 45 schemes across the district. He added more than 70 percent land issues (mostly in Kokernag, Dooru, etc subdivisions) have been sorted out and estimates for shifting of utilities at many places also stand released to the line departments.

The officers of PHE/ PDD etc informed us that the utilities at many places will be shifted successfully by the end of July this year.

The meeting was also attended by CPO, SDMs, EXENs/AEES of Jal Shakti, PDD and R & B and officers of Horticulture, Agriculture and other concerned departments.
