June 03: Continuing its efforts to eradicate the menace of drugs from the society, Police alongwith Revenue department destroyed poppy cultivation at Chogal Pora Manzgam area of district Kulgam.
A police party from Police Station Manzgam alongwith officials of Revenue Department destroyed poppy cultivation spread over 17 kanals of land at Chogal Pora Manzgam.
Accordingly, a case vide FIR No.43/2021 under relevant sections of law stands registered at Police Station Manzgam and investigation has been initiated.
General public of the area have appreciated the action of Police and have urged to continue such drive in nearby areas also.
Community members are requested to come forward with any information regarding cultivation of contrabands in their neighbourhood. Persons found indulging in drug peddling & cultivation of contraband substances shall be dealt as per law. Our consistent actions against such anti-social elements should reassure the community members that we are making efforts to keep our society free from the scourge of drug menace.
