Briefs media on Covid containment measures in the district

KUPWARA, MAY 28: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kupwara, Imam Din today said that the sampling has been intensified across the district to identify and isolate the positive cases to break the Covid chain.

The DC said this while addressing the media persons here to brief them about the status of Covid-19, Covid containment measures in the district.

Divulging the details, the DC said that the positive rate of cases has come down to 10.1 percent in the district adding that sampling is being continuously increased to know the positive trend of covid cases. He said that 1718 patients are currently under home isolation in the district.

The DC rejected the wrong notion about Covid vaccines being spread on social media and said that the people who take the vaccine, produce more immunity against the Covid. He appealed to the people to continue following the Covid appropriate behaviour by wearing masks, maintaining social distance and using sanitizers.

He also said that 385 Covid Care Centres are being established in the district, adding that 85 such Centres have been activated till 12 Noon today in the district. He informed that rest of the Covid Care Centres shall be established within 2 days.
