Rs. 69.71 cr released last year for establishment of 2390 units under JKREGP, PMEGP

SRINAGAR, MAY 25: Vice Chairperson, Khadi and Villages Industries Board (KVIB), Dr. Hina Shafi, Bhat today chaired a meeting to review performance of different schemes being implemented by the Board in Kashmir division.

The meeting was attended by Secretary, Chief Executive Officer J&K KVIB, Deputy Chief Executive Officer, PMEGP and JKREGP besides others officers of the Board.

It was informed that during the last financial year 2020-21 a margin money to the tune of Rs. 69.71 crore has been released for establishment of 2390 units in Kashmir division under employment generation programmes like JKREGP/PMEGP. Besides, an amount of Rs. 1480.67 lakh has been released for establishment of 717 units under PMEGP during the current financial year.

Vice Chairperson stressed the need for active involvement of field officers in propagating and disseminating the aims and objectives of JKREGP and PMEGP schemes among target group.

Meanwhile, Vice Chairperson reviewed the status of SFURTI clusters and asked the officers and other stake holders to work in tandem and ensure commissioning of the clusters within timelines.

Dr. Hina Shafi directed the officers to provide all type of handholding support to the youth for success of their ventures besides asking the district officers to ensure disposal of all cases in a period of 45 days.

Secretary KVIB directed the officers to ensure quality sponsorship preferably under priority sector so that success stories are created.
