‘Increased’ Covid-19 Deaths: Govt Orders Senior Doctors To Take Frontline

Srinagar, May 17: Amid “increase in mortality rate” among the COVID positive patients, the authorities have ordered senior faculty members of GMC Jammu to make frequent rounds of wards where the COVID positive patients are admitted.

In a communication to Principal Government Medical College Jammu, Atal Dulloo (IAS), Financial Commissioner, Health & Medical Education Department, has ordered the ensuring supervision of the patients by the senior Faculty members.

“As you are aware that mortality rate in COVID positive patients has increased and there is need for reducing the same which requires immediate corrective measures,” he said in the communication, a copy of which lies with news agency.

“It is desirable that the senior Faculty members of the concerned departments of your institution be directed to increase their presence by making frequent rounds of wards, where the COVID positive patients are admitted, so that such patients are properly looked after and treated, which will help us in reducing the mortality also,” the communication added.
