30-year-old woman, who didn’t conceive, found dead at her in-laws in Budgam  Her parents accuse in-laws of murder, seek probe

The relatives of the 30-year-old woman, Akhter Jan, whose body was found hanging from a walnut tree outside her in-laws home in Nowgam, Darwan, in Budgam district alleged that her in-laws have killed her.

As per family sources, Akhter Jan, 30 years old, of Zasoo, Pulwama, was married to Mohammad Shafi Mir of Nowgam, Darwan in Budgam district two year ago.

Police sources told news agency that Jan was found hanging from a walnut tree outside her in-laws house in Nowgam, Darwan.

Sources said that Jan could not conceive after her marriage which created dispute with her in laws.

The relatives held a protest outside sub district hospital Charar-I-Sharief in Budgam today afternoon after they were informed that their daughter’s body was found at her in-laws.

Her body was today taken to sub district hospital Charar-I-Sharief for post-mortem where her relatives protested against her in-laws and accused them of murdering their daughter.

Police officials said that they have filed an FIR into the incident and have started investigation.
