Srinagar, Apr 25: Police arrested trio from Central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district after they had entered Srinagar city to sell down stolen mobile phones and accessories.
The trio who are the residents of Saloora Ganderbal had looted a mobile shop in Beehama area of the Ganderbal district and were arrested at old bus stand Batamaloo by Srinagar police.
While divulging information about the incident, SDPO Batamaloo Shahjahan Chowdary said that they had received information that three persons from Ganderbal who had looted a mobile shop are intending to enter into Srinagar city to sell down the stolen cell phones and accessories.
Shahjahan Chowdary who was addressing a presser said that three suspects were apprehended at old bus stand Batamaloo and were brought to police station.
“During questioning, they confessed their crime and, on their disclosure, we recovered 39 stolen cell phones, 24 SD Cards, pen drives, cables and power bank,” the SDPO said.
Shahjahan Chowdary as per news agency Kashmir News Trust said that since trio were the residents of Ganderbal, they informed Ganderbal Police Station and it came to fore that an FIR vide number 58/2021 under section 457 was already registered there about the mobile shop burglary incident.
“One of the burglars identified as Hashim Iqbal Sofi is already involved in two more burglary cases. His two accomplices were identified as Raheel Hussain and Suhaib Shafi. After completing all the legal formalities, the trio will be handed over to Ganderbal Police,” Chowdary said.
