Bandipora Police arrests 4 gamblers, stake money seized

April 22: Acting tough against social crimes, Bandipora Police have arrested four gamblers from a gambling site and seized stake money.

Acting on specific information regarding gambling activities, a police team headed by Incharge PP Ajas under the supervision of SSP Bandipora Shri Mohammad Zahid-JKPS raided a gambling site and apprehended four gamblers. They have been identified as Habib Ullaha Ganie son of Gh Ahmad Ganie resident of SK Payeen,  Bashir Ahmad Bhat son of Ab Rehman Bhat, Sajad Ahmad Shah son of Shamsuddin Bhat and Gh Majed Ganie son of Maqsood Ganie all residents of Malpora SK Bala. Officers have seized stake money and playing cards from the gamblers. They have been shifted to Police Station where they remain in custody.

Accordingly, a case under relevant sections of law has been registered in Police Station Sumbal and investigation has been initiated.

Persons found indulging in criminal activities shall be dealt as per law. Community members are requested to share information regarding the crimes in their neighbourhood with the local police units.
