April 14: Police in Kulgam have arrested an active terrorist of JeM & also three terrorist associates. Incriminating materials including arms and ammunition have been recovered.
Acting on a specific information regarding movement of terrorists a special checkpoint was established by Police along with security forces at village Bogund. During checking of vehicles, three persons aboard a Maruti Alto vehicle were signalled to stop, who on seeing the search party tried to escape from the spot but were apprehended tactfully by the alert joint party.
Moreover, another associate of them was separately apprehended from the checkpoint.
The active terrorist has been identified as Zeyan Javid Dar son of Javid Ahmad Dar resident of Ushkuru Baramulla while as terrorist associates have been identified as Zahid Nazir Mantoo son of Nazir Ahmad Mantoo, Umer Yousuf Bhat son of Mohd Yousuf Bhat both residents of Feeripora Shopian and Muzaffar Ahmad Banday son of Mohd Sadiq Banday resident of Mandujan Shopian. As per police records they were affiliated with proscribed terror outfit JeM.
During search, incriminating material including arms and ammunitions were recovered from their possession.
A Case vide FIR No. 53/2021 under relevant sections of law has been registered in Police Station Kulgam and investigation has been initiated.
