Ganderbal: National Conference is not a mere political party, but a movement with well-defined political agenda and Workers of NC are epitome of sacrifice and selfless service who have withstood all challenges and proven their loyalty towards people, party and its leadership, National Conference Senior leader and former Legislator Sheikh Ishfaq Jabbar while welcoming new entrants into the party fold has said.
Welcoming many Panches, Sarpanches and BDC Wakura besides dozens of prominent political workers in National Conference fold at Ganderbal today, Jabbar said that a realisation has dawned on the people that there is no alternative to National Conference and the party alone can represent the social, political and economic aspirations and multifarious problems effectively and single-mindedly of the people of erstwhile state of Jammu and Kashmir.
The party’s objective has never been power but dignity and development of the people, he said.
Mr Jabbar exhorted the people to strengthen National Conference at grass root level and maintain peace and harmony saying the people have huge expectations from the party and its leadership. Sher-i-Kashmir Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah transferred ‘a peoples’ movement’ to us in the shape of NC and we have to nurture it in the same form, he said.
At the end, special prayers were held for the speedy recovery and wellbeing of Party President Dr Farooq Abdullah, Vice President Omer Abdullah who were tested positive for COVID-19.
Prominent party functionaries of Ganderbal which include DDC Chairperson Ganderbal Nuzhat Ishfaq, DDC Wakura Mohd Ashraf, other DDCs, Block Presidents, and others were also present on the occasion.
Prominent among those who joined the party include BDC Wakura Gh Mohd Malla, Sarpanch and Panches and dozens of workers from other parties the statement added.
