Srinagar,06 April: A delegation of the Kashmir Traders & Manufacturers Delegation (KTMF) today called on Deputy Commissioner (DC) Srinagar, Ajaz Asad. According to a statement, various issues related to trade, business and development of Srinagar Smart City were discussed. The delegation was led by its President Mohammad Yaseen Khan.
Khan projected various issues including macadamization and repairs of roads, providing adequate parking facilities, especially in Sher-e Khaas, sanitation and cleanliness measures in City, besides other concerns pertaining to the trade community in Srinagar.
“We informed the Deputy Commissioner Srinagar that roads have been damaged due to heavy snowfall in winter as a result of which the traders are facing losses. With regard to containment and management of new wave of Covid-19, we urged for strict compliance to the SOPs to prevent its spread”, Khan said.
Senior Vice President KTMF, Manzoor Ahmad Bhat projected several issues of traders in Shaher-e-Khaas particularly regarding traffic jamming caused due to non-availability of parking facility near SMHS, Super Specialty hospitals and Dental College.
Responding to the issues raised by the KTMF delegation, the Deputy Commissioner assured them that all their concerns will be looked and redressed on priority. He said blacktopping of roads would start shortly in Srinagar. Earlier, the delegation welcomed the Deputy Commissioner on holding the charge in Srinagar as DC and hoped that issues and concerns confronting trade community of Srinagar would be resolved in time bound manner.
Other members who were part of the delegation were General Secretary KTMF Bashir Ah Kongposh, Haji Khurshid Ah Shah, Riyaz Ah Kachkar, Raja Fida Hussain Khan, Ashfaq Ah Mahajan, Qazi Tauseef, Ab Qadir Mir & Manzoor Ah Mir.
President KTMF, Mohammad Yaseen Khan hailed DC Srinagar for taking cognizance of the issues raised by the members of the delegation and assured of full cooperation by the business community in the development of Srinagar as smart city.
