SHOPIAN, APRIL 3: The District Development Commissioner, (DDC) Shopian, Sachin Kumar Vaishya today convened a meeting of Officers to review the Physical and Financial achievements of various departments at DC Office Complex, here.

At the outset, the DDC took Sector-Wise review of the progress of projects undertaken by different departments/agencies and other Centrally Sponsored Schemes. He reviewed the Schemes of Rural Development Department, Irrigation and Flood Control, R&B, PMGSY, Health, PDD, Animal and Sheep Husbandry, Education, Youth Services and Sports and others.

Detailed discussions were also held on various issues related to effective implementation of vital schemes and projects in the District.

The DDC directed the concerned officers to mobilize all the sources for effective and timely completion of developmental projects.

The DDC urged upon the officers to gear up the pace of ongoing works and projects and directed the concerned to personally monitor the progress of ongoing developmental works on a regular basis to ensure completion of these projects within the fixed timelines.

Reiterating the importance of public outreach programme, the DDC appreciated the efforts of the officers for redressing grievances of the people at their doorsteps.

He directed the officers to ensure punctuality and accountability of the employees in various Government offices for better public delivery, grievance redressal mechanism through effective implementation and called for empathetic and sympathetic attitude while dealing to the people.

The DDC also directed the CMO to achieve the required target of vaccination and stressed to gear up the men and machinery in view of the second wave of the Covid-19 virus to save the precious lives.

The meeting held threadbare discussion on the issues hindering the pace of developmental projects including land acquisition, land compensation and forest clearance and directed the concerned officers to remove bottlenecks by taking appropriate action and asked them that he will review the progress in this connection shortly.

The DDC further directed the concerned Executing Agencies to speed up the construction work on various Projects in a time bound manner and leave no stone unturned in fulfilling the aspirations of the people who have great expectations with the Government.

The DDC emphasized upon the officers to ensure accountability and timely completion of all Projects and Schemes going on in the district. He also asked for the reconciliation among intending departments and Executing Agencies for better results and timely completion of the works.

The meeting was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner, Shopian, Dr. Sheikh Abdul Aziz, Assistant Commissioner, Revenue, JD Planning, CEO, CSHO, CAO, CMO, Executive Engineers of various Executing Wings, representatives and other Officers of various departments including Engineers of Irrigation and Flood Control.
