Srinagar, April 01: Militants fired upon the security deployment of BJP leader Anwar Khan deployed at his residence in Nowgam area of Srinagar on Thursday.
As per sources, initially one security personal was injured in the attack who later on succumbs to his injuries on the way to hospital.
The slain cop was identified as Constable Rameez Raja 794/S.
However the BJP leader wasn’t present at his residence during the time of attack, said sources.
Sources privy to JKNS said that the militants fled with rifle, of the cop who was declared dead on arrival at SMHS.
Meanwhile, a case has been registered and investigations has been set into motion.
