DC Presides over mega public Darbar at Kangan To defeat Corona Virus top most priority

GANDERBAL, MARCH 31: As a part of Block Diwas and initiative of public outreach programme with main focus on delivery of services at the doorsteps with transparency and accountability, the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Ganderbal, Krittika Jyotsna today convened a mega public outreach cum interaction programme at Kangan.

Thousands of local People and PRIs hailing from different areas of Kangan Sub-Division attended the darbar and put forth their genuine issues relating to problems particularly development of existing roads, drinking water supply, dearth of staff in Trauma Hospital, employment for local youth in Zojila tunnel project, augmentation of power supply and irrigation facilities, renovation of cricket ground, upgradation of drainage and street lights in Kangan market, intensive Covid Vaccination drive and other issues of public importance.

While interacting with the public, the DDC reiterated that the main aim and objective of this programme is to take a firsthand appraisal of all issues on spot at gross root level and to ensure timely disposal of the same.

Regarding employment of locals in Zojila Tunnel project, the DC said SDM Kangan is already directed to hold camp in this regard and urged upon local unemployment youth to register themselves during camp so that complied list is forwarded to the Zojila Tunnel project authorities.

Regarding Covid vaccination, jyotsna said that the top most priority of the district administration is to defeat the Corona Virus and in this regard over 60 sites are identified for vaccination in the district. She also appealed the locals to get vaccinated as soon as possible and follow covid protocol vigorously adding that all service providers of the district shall be vaccinated before the commencement of Annual Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra.

The DC further added that District Administration is ensuring to provide all facilities to the people at their doorsteps especially to the people living in far flung areas and tough topography and in this regard necessary instructions are already given to line departments.

The day long programme was also attended by SSP Ganderbal, Suhail Munawar Mir, ADC Ganderbal, Farooq Ahmad Baba, SDM Kangan, CAO, ARTO and other concerned. DDC members, BDC chairpersons and Sarpanchs were also present on the occasion.

Similar programmes under Block Diwas initiative were also held at other identified places of the district.
