March 31: Police in Budgam have recovered illicit timber dumped in a residential house at Mazhama Magam area of Budgam.
Acting on specific information, officers from Police Station Magam along with Forest Protection Force raided the residential house of Fayaz Ahmad Rather resident of Mazhama Magam. During the search officers were able to recover illegal timber measuring 161.58 cft dumped in the premises of his house. The owner of the house is at large and efforts are on to trace him.
A case vide FIR No. 41/2021 under relevant sections of law has been registered in Police Station Magam & investigation into the matter has been initiated.
Our consistent actions against anti social elements should reassure the community members that we are making every effort to keep our society free of crime. Police has resolved to act as per law against those who indulge in criminal activities.
