Director Rural Sanitation inaugurates 4-days workshop on Solid Waste Management at SKICC

SRINAGAR, MARCH 17: The Director Rural Sanitation, Tariq Ahmad Ganaie on Wednesday inaugurated four-day workshop on Solid Waste Management at Sher-e-Kashmir International Convention Centre, here.

In his inaugural speech, the Director appreciated the participants for attending the workshop and informed them about the benefits, aims and objectives of the workshop.

He said the workshop will help them in understanding the different aspects and modern trends of Solid Waste Management on scientific lines that will ultimately pave way for plastic free society and will help us to dispose the waste in proper way.

Ganaie urged the participants to actively participate in the workshop so that at the end of the workshop they are well equipped with knowledge and experience regarding the subject matter.

He said the Solid Waste Management is a major challenge in the UT and disposing it by using modern scientific techniques will help us in overcoming this challenge and will help us in protecting the environment.

ACD Srinagar and Ganderbal, Bilal Mukhtar while speaking on the occasion threw light on various aspects of the workshop.

He briefed the participants about management of the programme and that how different category of participants will extend the benefits of such trainings to the grassroots level.

Meanwhile, the workshop will continue for four days besides it shall also cover the field visit.

Assistant Commissioner Development Ganderbal Bilal Mukhtar, Deputy Director Rural Sanitation Aijaz Ahmad Shah, DPOs, Executive Engineers of RDD Kashmir, PRI members besides other senior officers of the Mission were present on the occasion.
