SRINAGAR: A pillion rider died on the spot even as the biker sustained critical injuries after a bike they were riding on was hit by a dump truck in the Pattan area along the highway on Wednesday afternoon.
Quoting reports news agency GNS said that a dump truck (Tipper) bearing Registration Number JK-05D 2212 hit a bike near Hanjiwera locality in Pattan.
In the incident, the pillion rider Mudasir Hussain Wani son of Abdul Rashid Wani resident of Modergund Bandipora died on spot beside the biker Javid Qadir Lone son of Ghulam Qadir Lone resident of Arun Bandipora receiving critical injuries.
The injured has been shifted to Trauma hospital Pattan for immediate treatment.
