Anantnag, Mar 02: The Community Radio Station (CRS) ‘Radio Raabta—Dil Se Dil Tak’ was started by the Army in the year 2020, in a bid to reach out to the youth and was the first community radio station of south Kashmir.
The Community Radio Service ‘Radio Raabta’ continues to attract the listeners of south Kashmir as the initiative which was kicked off by the Army in the backdrop of public outreach program has successfully served the motive of outreach.
After receiving the positive response, the Army is mulling to start the services in three more areas of south and north Kashmir.
“The Radio Raabta connects us all and apart from entertainment we get our grievances addressed in time bound manner,” said Rouf Dar a local listener of Radio Raabta from Anantnag.
He said that, Radio Raabta has eliminated the barriers of effective communication and apart from entertainment the valuable information is being provided through uninterrupted radio services even in the remote areas of south Kashmir.
He further added, “Listening to Radio Raabta has become the daily routine for me and many of friends, it’s amazing and we are looking forward for the expansion of the network throughout the Valley.”
The Radio Raabta—Dil Se Dil Tak—is the first community radio station (CRS) of the Army that has been set up at Anantnag high ground.
“I am hopeful that the Radio Raabta would help in reaching out to the young population of south Kashmir which will create a sort of connection between the Army and locals of south Kashmir,” said a senior Army official based in south Kashmir.
It was also said that the station would be on air for the maximum part of the day and programs will aired in both Urdu and Kashmiri languages.
Pertinently, the Community Radio Service (CRS) is being managed by Army right after it was inaugurated in the year 2020, jointly by Deputy Commissioner KK Sidha, DIG SKR and Commander 1 Sector Rashtriya Rifles.
The station is successfully operating from Anantnag High ground Camp, about 20 kms from the Anantnag Town.
