A team comprising 14 members of “Wander Beyond Boundaries” visited Machhal bowl in order to promote adventure tourism activities and to uncover new tourist destination in remote villages of North Kashmir. The visit was org by “Wander Beyond Boundaries” in association with department of J & K tourism & CEAT Tyres.
The team lead by Col Satinder Malik ( Retd) reached Machhal on 23 Feb 2021. They were welcomed by team of RR Battalion deployed on their arrival. The team visited Machhal bowl and interacted with local villagers to gain info and knowledge about their history, culture, traditions and source of livelihood. The team also visited the houses of civilians. They had an interactive session with students to know about the facilities in terms of education, extracurricular activities and availability of modern studies infrastructure. The students were asked about their interest in vocational training in future, if the same is made available by Govt/NGO resources. A trekking was also carried out by the team members to ascertain the suitability of area to promote tourism in remote areas of the state. The aim of the visit “to promote tourism and economic developments” in remote areas in the State of J & K was fully achieved by the team of “Wander Beyond Boundaries”. The expedition raised the hopes of civil population about Machhal emerging in tourism map of UT of JK as an adventure tourism destination.
