For the first time in 40 days, temperature rises above 10°C in Srinagar

Srinagar, 06 Feb: It was a sunny day in the summer capital with the maximum temperature recorded at 10.8 degrees Celsius, two notches above the season’s average.

The last time mercury settled above 10°C in Srinagar city was on 28 December 2020 with a maximum temperature of 10.5°C. Since then, it continued to remain below 10°C with a mean maximum temperature of 5.8°C.

Kupwara, in north Kashmir, was the warmest place in the Kashmir valley with the maximum temperature of 13.3 degrees Celsius, 5 degrees above normal.

Qazigund, Pahalgam and Kokernag recorded maximum temperatures of 10.5°C, 6.2°C and 7.6°C respectively.

The ski-resort of Gulmarg registered the maximum temperature at 2.4 degree Celsius, 4.4 degrees up from the previous day.

Kashmir Weather, an independent weather forecaster, has forecasted of mainly dry weather for the next 10 days.
