Weather Update 22 Jan (Detailed Forecast)

Kashmir:An active Western Disturbance, over North Pakistan and Jammu & Kashmir currently, is likely to bring moderate snowfall across Kashmir with chances of heavy snowfall at a few places.
Light rain or snow is expected at one or two places this afternoon. Thereafter, there would be an increase in intensity and distribution with its peak activity on 23 Jan.
Activity of this weather system will be maximum over north Kashmir till tomorrow morning.
From tomorrow late morning, snow will shift towards south Kashmir and moderate spells of snowfall are expected at most parts of central and south Kashmir. This time, the intensity will be maximum over south Kashmir.
Parts in central Kashmir may receive less snowfall compared to north and south Kashmir.
Temperature on 23 Jan at most places will stay below 3°C.
From tomorrow night, weather will start to improve. However, light snow showers may continue at a few/many places till 25th morning.
Another weak Western Disturbance is expected around 26-27 Jan which can bring light snowfall at a few places. The intensity will be very less.
From 28th night onward, dry and cold weather will prevail till 02 February. Cold wave to severe cold wave conditions may return causing slippery road conditions.

Jammu:
Good rain showers are expected at the most places. Upper reaches including Bhaderwah, Batote and Banihal may see snowfall this time.
Main activity of this weather system will be on 23 Jan. Some places may see rain showers on 24 Jan as well.

Ladakh:
Light to moderate snowfall is expected with main activity on 23 Jan. Intensity of this system will be higher in Kargil district than Leh district.
