Ganderbal: The local residents in Ganderbal on Tuesday caught a Himalayan grey langur after it was found roaming Wangat area of central Kashmir’s district.
As per the reports, after being caught alive, the wildlife department reached the spot and tranquilized the animal to Dachigam National Park.
“We were walking around in the Wangat area when we noticed Himalayan Grey langur in the area. We then called the officials as it was the first time that Himalayan grey langur was seen in Ganderbal”, said a locale.
Meanwhile, a Wild Life Department while talking to news agency said, “Yes, we were informed by the locals in Ganderbal area that a Himalayan grey langur has been seen roaming in the area following which a team was sent, which later caught the animal”.
He added, “The wild Himalayan grey langur was then shifted to Dachigam National Park”.
