Anantnag, Jan 04 : Executive Engineer Mechanical Engineering Mohammad Ismael Cheechi Monday took stock of post-snowfall situation in Anantnag areas and appealed people to contact control room in case of any exigency.
Talking to KNS, he said that the administration has placed its men and machinery to clear the accumulated snow from main and link roads.
“We have pressed 22 machines into service for snow clearance. Mostly main roads including Anantnag – Pahalgam, Anantnag – Duro, Anantnag – Kokernag and other are connected right now”, he said.
To a query, the officer said that the snow clearance is not confined into main roads only but we took up link roads as well. “I have passed directions to my men that after clearance of main roads, attention must be given to link roads so that people don’t suffer”, he said.
He appealed people of the district to restrict their movement amid heavy prediction of snow by MeT in coming hours and asked them to contact the established control room in case of any exigency. “I appeal people to contain their movement as MeT had predicted more snow in coming hours”, he said and added “In case of any exigency, feel free to contact control room”.
