Majalta: – While conducting a one day tour of the area and addressing a series of gatherings of prominent citizens and party activists at various villages of  Majalta (Jansal, GS Banj, Panjian, Babay and adjoining villages) , Mr. Ranbir Singh Pathania, spokesperson, JKBJP, has called for fast-tracking work-execution on developmental works which are going on with a snail’s pace. He was accompanied by Mr. Rakesh Chander Sharma (DDC Ghordi), Mr. Mool Raj Bhagat (DDC Ramnagar-I), Mrs. Juhi Manhas(DDC Khoon), Mr. Amit Sharma(DDC Majalta), Mrs Pinkey Devi (DDC Latti Marothi), Mr. Jattu Ram(DDC Ramnagar-II), Mr. Prikshit Singh (DDC Jaganoo) and a wide galaxy of local leaders.  Mr Pathania further said that during his three years stint as elected legislator of the area, works worth hundreds of crores under PMGSY, CRF, languishing projects,NABARD, IDDSMT have been sanctioned and started. But given the lackluster approach of the executing agencies, it looks as if the legacy of a contractor-politician mafia which have looted and plundered Ramnagar as ceremonious as Somnath Temple by Mehmood Ghaziniis still there. He was categoric about the criminal conduct of contractor junta sponsored by a particular political party has been putting in tenders relatively lower rates (uptill 20%) and then playing hide and seek with works for years and years. He further elicited instance of Tentha to Nallah Mallein road where two tenders by a same joint-venture firm were floated separately and a work at a relatively higher rate of 17 % was accepted.

He further sought a detailed enquiry as to why qualitative execution of works within the stipulated time frame has not been completed while referring to Ramnagar-Chhatriari (Part-1 & 2, Thial-Chountra Mata road (u/CRF), Panchound to Chapper, Plasssan to Rang, Daler Morh to Amroh, Tagan -Sattian road, Kaghote-Dalsar road, Ramnagar-Dudu road, Thatin-Pathwar raod, Sail-Mela road, Manwal-Pinger road, Battal-Barigarh road, u/PMGSY/Languishing projects scheme. He again flayed executing agencies for halfway left, sub-standard execution of work on various water supply schemes, irrigation canals, schools and hospital buildings. Although all sanctioned amount is available w.r.t. these works, the same are hanging for one reason or the other.

He also questioned as to why work on 100 bedded hostel for girls at Chowki has not commenced and another 100 bedded hostel  at G S Banj still lying incomplete.

Mr. Pathania called for strict action against such unscrupulous contractors and irresponsible officers who have debarred the local people from the virtual fruits of these works and the fact remains that the money for these projects stands sanctioned since years back and a major portion of these works still stand unexecuted.

While referring to recently concluded DDC polls in Ramnagar, Mr Pathania said that a new crop of leadership especially hailing from vulnerable andweaker sections of society- women, SCs, STs- have emerged. And the new leadership is ready to take on the basic issues confronting the people of J&K vis-à-vis act as a viable bridge between J&K and New-Delhi. The concept of direct funding of DDCs has lit a hope of optimism and enthusiasm in J&K.
