December 28: Acting on specific information about the misappropriation of subsidized rice and flour, Kulgam police seized 18 Bags of subsidized rice & flour.
During the intervening night of 27/28-12-2020, Officers at a checkpoint established at DPL Crossing Kulgam intercepted a vehicle bearing registration number JK03-9155 with two persons on board. They have been identified as Aejaz Ahmad Dar and Farooq Ahmad Dar both residents of Shamispora Bijbhera.
During search of the vehicle 12 bags of subsidized rice & 6 bags of subsidized flour were recovered. They have been arrested and shifted to Police Station Kulgam where they remain in custody.
Vehicle used in the commission of offence has also been seized.
Accordingly Case FIR no. 231/2020 under relevant sections of law was registered in Police Station Kulgam and investigation in the matter has been initiated.
