Kashmir Advocate’s Association Hosts Pioneering Farewell for Transferred Judges

Srinagar, September 7, 2024 – In a landmark event for the District Court Srinagar, the Kashmir Advocate’s Association (KAA) organized a memorable farewell party for the Hon’ble Judges who have been transferred to other courts within the Union Territory. This significant event took place in the Common Bar Room of the Petition Writer’s Block at the District Court Srinagar, marking a first in the court’s history.

The farewell was designed to honor the contributions of the departing judges and to enhance the relationship between the bar and bench. The gathering saw a diverse group of attendees, including advocates, as well as court staff.

In his address, Adv Waseem Gul, President Kashmir Advocates Association highlighted the judges’ commitment to justice and their positive impact on the legal system in Srinagar. He emphasized the importance of maintaining strong and respectful interactions between the bar and the bench, which are crucial for the effective delivery of justice.

The judges expressed their gratitude for the warm farewell and reflected on their experiences in Srinagar. They commended the supportive and cooperative nature of the local legal community, hoping to carry forward these positive relationships to their new postings.

The event concluded with a reception where attendees had the opportunity to personally bid farewell and discuss their professional experiences. The KAA’s initiative is expected to pave the way for future events aimed at fostering stronger ties between the judiciary and legal practitioners in the region.
