*July 23:* “`Police in Budgam have seized 17 Tippers, 01 JCB and 01 LNT involved in illegal extraction & transportation of minerals in past two weeks.
This proactive approach to curb illegal mining has been taken up by all the police stations of the district. Along with the Mineral Department, Budgam Police realised fine in the tune of lacs against illegal extraction/ transportation of minerals.
Police is committed to act tough against these violators. Community members are requested to come forward with any information regarding illegal mineral-related activities in their neighbourhood.“`
