*July 23:* “`Continuing its efforts to eradicate the menace of drugs from the society, Police in Budgam have arrested 03 drug peddlers and recovered contraband substance from their possession.
Following specific information, a Police party of PS Charar Sharief along with concerned Executive Magistrate raided the specific location in the jurisdiction of PS Charar Sharief and apprehended 03 persons along with vehicle (Santro) bearing registration number CH04A-4603. They have been identified as Gh Mohd Handroo son of Gh Ahmad Handroo, Aquib Handroo son of Gh Ahmad Handroo, Mohd Maqbool Handroo son of Gh Ahmad Handroo, all residents of Kakapora Pulwama. During search, 6 Kgs of Poppy Straw were recovered from their possession. They have been arrested and the vehicle used in the commission of the crime has also been seized.
Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 64/2024 under relevant sections of law has been registered at PS Charar Sharief and investigation has been initiated.“`
