Karnah, June 3, 2024 — In a poignant display of faith and gratitude, Honorary Captain Gurnam Singh, a 90-year-old Sikh veteran hailing from Rajasthan, made a remarkable pilgrimage to the Peer Baba Suliman shrine in Tangdar, Karnah, after an absence of 53 years. His return to the sacred site, where he served in the army during 1971-72, symbolized the enduring religious connection that transcends time and distance.

During his tenure in Tangdar 53 years bach when he was serving here as a Soilder in Indian Army, Honorary Captain Gurnam Singh fervently prayed at the Peer Baba Suliman shrine, beseeching Allah for the fulfillment of his wishes. Remarkably, he attested that all his prayers were answered, a testament to his unwavering faith in the divine.

Moved by the fulfillment of his desires, Honorary Captain Gurnam Singh resolved to express his gratitude by offering a sheet at the shrine once again. His gesture of thanksgiving resonated deeply with the local Muslim community, who warmly embraced him, recognizing his reverence and sincerity.

Reflecting on his profound experience, the Sikh veteran expressed, “Allah fulfilled all my wishes, and I will always be grateful to Him.” His words encapsulated the essence of faith and humility, transcending religious boundaries and fostering a spirit of mutual respect and admiration.

Indeed, Honorary Captain Gurnam Singh’s pilgrimage underscores the profound interfaith harmony that permeates the region of Tangdar. His story serves as a powerful reminder that humanity and love know no religious bounds, exemplifying the timeless values of compassion, unity, and understanding.

Accompanied by his grandchildren, children, and wife, Sikh veteran Honorary Captain Gurnam Singh embarked on a heartfelt pilgrimage to the Tangdar Shrine after 53 years. Reflecting on the occasion, one of his sons expressed, “We grew up hearing about the spiritual significance and blessings of this place from our father. Today, witnessing this incredible experience alongside him fills us with gratitude and a profound sense of blessing.”
