Poonch:-Seasonal teachers in Tehsil Mandi of Poonch District held a press conference to address the ongoing issues they are facing in the implementation of the order issued by Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha. The press conference served as a platform for these teachers to voice their concerns, frustrations, and demands regarding their employment status and the lack of action by the Education Department.

The atmosphere at the press conference was charged with emotions as the seasonal teachers, including Iklaq Mehmood and Iqbal Ahmed Tantary, spoke passionately about the challenges they have been encountering. The teachers highlighted the significance of their role in the education system and expressed their dedication to providing quality education to students despite the uncertainties surrounding their employment.

One of the key issues raised during the press conference was the failure of the Education Department to implement the order extending the service period of seasonal teachers from 6 months to 9 months. Despite the directive from Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, the department’s inaction has left the teachers in a state of limbo, unsure about their future and livelihood. This lack of follow-through on the part of the authorities has caused frustration and anxiety among the seasonal teachers, who feel undervalued and neglected.

Iklaq Mehmood, a seasoned teacher, emphasized the importance of recognizing the contributions of seasonal teachers and providing them with job security and stability. He underscored the dedication and hard work put in by these teachers to ensure that students receive a quality education, despite facing numerous challenges. Mehmood called on the Education Department to honor the order issued by the Lieutenant Governor and take immediate steps to implement it without further delay.

Iqbal Ahmed Tantary echoed Mehmood’s sentiments, highlighting the impact of the department’s inaction on the morale and motivation of seasonal teachers. Tantary emphasized that these teachers play a crucial role in bridging gaps in the education system and ensuring continuity in learning for students. He urged the authorities to prioritize the welfare and rights of seasonal teachers by adhering to the directives laid out by the Lieutenant Governor and providing them with the necessary support and recognition they deserve.

The press conference also shed light on the broader issues faced by seasonal teachers, including low wages, lack of job security, and inadequate facilities. The teachers expressed their concerns about being treated as temporary or disposable employees, despite their significant contributions to the education sector. They called for fair treatment, respect, and dignity in their profession, emphasizing that they deserve to be valued and supported by the authorities.

The voices of the seasonal teachers resonated with a sense of urgency and determination to bring about change in their working conditions. They emphasized the need for accountability and transparency in the Education Department’s actions and urged for immediate steps to be taken to address their grievances. The teachers called on relevant stakeholders, including government officials and policymakers, to listen to their concerns and take concrete measures to improve their working conditions and ensure their rights are upheld.

As the press conference concluded, a sense of unity and solidarity among the seasonal teachers was palpable. They vowed to continue advocating for their rights and standing up for their dignity as educators. The event served as a rallying point for these teachers to amplify their voices and demand justice and fairness in their profession.

In conclusion, the press conference held by seasonal teachers in Tehsil Mandi of Poonch District was a powerful display of resilience, determination, and advocacy for their rights. The teachers’ passionate speeches and calls for action underscored the urgent need for reforms in the education sector to ensure that all educators are treated with respect, dignity, and fairness.

It is i mperative that the authorities heed their demands and take immediate steps to address the issues raised by these dedicated educators. Only by valuing and supporting seasonal teachers can we truly build a strong foundation for quality education and empower future generations.
