Over 3700 Artisans enrolled on PM Vishawakarma portal

 

GANDERBAL, JANUARY 05: In a meeting held at the VC Room of Mini Secretariat Ganderbal, the Deputy Commissioner DC) Ganderbal, Shyambir today reviewed the effective implementation of the PM Vishwakarma scheme aimed at uplifting traditional artisans and craftspeople in the district.

 

The General Manager, District Industries Centre, Ganderbal, provided an updated list of over 3700 artisans who have enrolled on the PM Vishwakarma portal, showcasing a significant response to the scheme.

 

The DC undertook a thorough evaluation of the progress in artisan registration, verification processes in rural and urban areas, stakeholder capacity building, and the monitoring and evaluation mechanism for artisans.

 

Discussing the strategy for the second-tier verification of applications, the DC emphasized a swift process, directing line department officers to complete the verification within three days. He urged the importance of creating awareness, involving Panchayati Raj Institutions to maximize the scheme’s impact on the socio-economic development of artisans.

 

The DC said that the PM Vishwakarma scheme is poised to directly benefit thousands of artisans and craftsmen in the district, providing them with essential tools, training, and financial support for their socio-economic development.

 

The meeting was attended by Assistant Commissioner Development, Dr Bashir Ahmad, General Manager DIC, Lead District Manager, AD H&H, EO Municipal Council Ganderbal and representatives of MSME besides representative of MSDE, domain experts, and other concerned officers.
