The General Secretary of the Civil Society, Raja Waqar informed Director Dr. Mushtaq Ahmed Rather about the current situation in SDH Tandhar, where there are 29 doctor vacancies, with only 12 of them filled. He emphasized the need for appointing a General Physician and filling the vacant posts in SDH Tangdar before the winter season. Additionally, it was proposed to establish a dialysis center in Karnah as soon as possible.

Talking to the press, Raja Waqar highlighted the challenges faced by doctors and paramedical staff working under the NRHM scheme in SDH Tangdar, as the non-transferable policy has caused them mental distress. He pointed out that no new doctors were joining the hospital, leading to a shortage of medical personnel. It was urged that the LG administration and central government consider amending the policy to support the hospital’s localization and grant it special status. The upgradation of SDH Tangdar was also advocated for due to the shortage of medical staff, which forces local residents to travel to distant hospitals in the valley, particularly during the harsh winter months.
