SRINAGAR, OCTOBER 22: Under the Handicrafts and Handloom department’s ‘Know Your Artisan’ initiative, Advisor to Lieutenant Governor, Rajeev Rai Bhatnagar today inaugurated an art exhibition ‘CONFLUENCE’ at Government Arts Emporium here, to honour diverse creativity and showcase the artistic brilliance of Dr. Archana Jha Choudhary.

Speaking on the occasion, Advisor Bhatnagar appreciated the efforts of department in engaging the artists in such interactive exhibitions that encourage visitor participation. He added that such kind of exhibitions are pivotal to provide insights into creative processes of artists, thereby fostering support for local art.

The Advisor added that this confluence seeks to explore the intersection of tradition and innovation in a way that sparks conversations and evokes emotions.

He highlighted that this exhibition provides a context and information about the artist, her works, and the historical and cultural background through the displayed masterpieces.

Director Handicrafts and Handloom Kashmir, while speaking on the sidelines of the event said that the Department is committed to provide a platform to showcase different forms of art, including painting, sculpture, photography and more. He added that this exposure can help artists gain recognition and potentially launch their careers in the art world.

Pertinently, today’s exhibition showcased the collection of exceptional amalgam of Bhasoli, Madhubani and Kangra paintings by Dr. Jha who has brought together a harmonious blend of styles, mediums, and perspectives which serve as a visual symphony for all.

A carefully curated selection of diverse range of paintings representing various backgrounds and artistic styles are displayed in the event which shall continue till 26th of this month at Government Arts Emporium Srinagar.

These events are aimed to promote artistic diversity and provide a platform for talented artists to showcase their exceptional craftsmanship.
