Walkathon flagged-off by DC from Mini-Secretariat

KULGAM, OCTOBER 19: To raise awareness about the importance of adopting a balanced and nutritious diet with special emphasis on millets, a Millets Walkathon under ‘Eat Right Initiative India’ was organized at Kulgam.

This walkathon was flagged-off by the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kulgam Dr.Bilal Mohi-Ud-Din Bhat from Mini-Secretariat here to Govt Girls Higher Secondary School Kulgam as part of the ‘Eat Right Initiative India’ campaign and celebrating year 2023 as ‘International Year of Millets’.

Assistant Commissioner Food Safety Kulgam, Food Safety Officer, District Youth Services and Sports Officer and other officers were also present.

The Walkathon was organized by Drug & Food Control Organization J&K, Food Safety Department District Kulgam and witnessed participation of hundreds of students, besides officials and citizens.

On the occasion Assistant Commissioner Food Safety encouraged students to promote healthier eating habits. She said that by celebrating the ‘International Year of Millets 2023,’ sustainable and nutritious benefits of millets are being highlighted.

Later a Yoga Session was also held.
