Secretary RD&PR visits Kupwara, inspects SBM initiatives, Amritsarovars, interacts with PRIs

Secretary, Rural Development & Panchayat Raj Department (RD& PR Department) , Tariq Ahmad Zargar today undertook visit of Kupwara district where he inspected Swachh Bharat Mission (Grameen) works and Amritsarovars.

This exercise is part of the innovative mechanism introduced by the Commissioner/Secretary, Department Rural Development & Panchayati Raj, wherein all the Heads of the Department of Rural Development have been tasked to visit the Blocks of allotted districts and inspect the works executed under Swachh Bharat Mission (Grameen).

The Secretary RD & PR Department Nutnoosa and Hirri Qadaribad Blocks of Kupwara district.

In Nutnoosa block he paid a visit in Kandi A and Kandi B Panchayats where he inspected SBM assets and other initiatives including Segregation Sheds, community and individual compost pits, community and individual soakage pits, Community Sanitary complexes.
Secretary checked Waste Management MOU, forward linkages, and interacted with Recycle Heroes.
He also visited Amritsarovar at Kandi and checked inlets, outlets and beautification of Amritsarovar.
Later Tariq Zargar visited Hiri Qadirabad Block and inspected SBM projects at Hiri A and Hiri B. He visited Amritsaeovar at Gulgam.
Secretary was accompanied by Assistant Commissioner Development Kupwara, Hilal Ahmad Mir, EXen REW Shafat Hussan, BDC chairperson Nutnoosa, Miss. Asifa, BDO Nutnoosa, Dr. Tariq Ahmad and other officers PRIs and officials.

The SBM (G) works inspected at Hiri Qadirabad block include Segregation Sheds, Community Sanitary Complexes, Community Soakage Pits, Individual Soakage Pits and Vermi- Compost Units.

The local inhabitants and PRIs of the visited areas appreciated the pace and quality of works.
