Awareness programme under Har Ghar Dhyan campaign held at GCW Udhampur

Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav Committee (AKAM) of Government College for Women (GCW) Udhampur, under the convenorship of Dr. Sanjeet Kour, and in collaboration with Art of living, Udhampur, organised an awareness programme on meditation and mental health for the students and faculty members under Har Ghar Dhyan Campaign.

Sunil Sharma, District Teacher Coordinator, Art of living, Udhampur was the resource person. He introduced the audience about stress, its various types viza viz physical stress, mental stress, stress from children and stress at the workplace and how to overcome it by meditation and dhyan kriyas.

He also stressed on the importance of meditation and briefed the audience about its various benefits by quoting real life examples to make it understandable for the audience. He also mentioned that meditation makes a person strong and deep from within and its constant practice will enable every person to lead a successful, contented and happy life. Jitendra Goel, volunteer from Art of Living assisted the resource person during the practical session where in the faculty and the students performed various dhyan kriyas to overcome stress.

Prof. Anjali Mahajan, Principal of the college was the chief guest on the occasion.

She congratulated and appreciated the organisers for organising such a wonderful program that will prove beneficial for staff and students in overcoming stressful conditions they face in their day to day life.

She also desired that such programmes must be organised in future also. Prof. Yash Paul, HOD History conducted the proceedings of the program and formal vote of thanks was presented by Prof. Pooja Bharti, HOD Geography. All the faculty members actively participated in the programme.
