Ramban: SFCAC Committee discusses Foster care cases

Deputy Commissioner Ramban, Mussarat Islam today chaired a meeting of Sponsorship and Foster Care Approval Committee (SFCAC) here in his office chamber.

The meeting was attended by ADC Harbans Sharma; ACR, Giasul Haq; DSWO, Rahul Gupta and other concerned officers.

The meeting discussed the cases for children in need of assistance. The DSWO informed that the Committee has identified several cases and the Child Welfare Committee will scrutinize the documents as per the criteria to shortlist 58 cases.

The Committee discussed individual cases and the DC asked to forward the cases to the Child Welfare Committee for further evaluation and approval.

Once approved, the children will be provided appropriate assistance as per government norms. The committee also keeps track of the progress of the approved cases and reports any anomalies that may occur during the proceedings.

In addition to this, members of the committee also act as mentors to support the children in achieving a better life.

Earlier, the DSWO gave a power-point presentation and brief the meeting that the assistance is given to the children like children without home, victim of any natural calamity, child labour, trafficked child, HIV/AIDS affected child and child beggars in need of care and protection as per J.J Act 2015
