VC-DDC Kupwara flags off students, teachers for Trekking Expedition

Vice Chairman, District Development Council Kupwara, Haji Farooq Ahmad Mir Deputy Commissioner Kupwara, Wednesday flagged off a group of 250 students for a trekking expedition from Warnow to Wontwari- Rang which is escorted by 9 teachers.

Event was organized by District Youth Services and Sports Department Kupwara.

The students (under 19 -Boys ) belonged to Government Higher Secondary School Maidanpora and Government Higher Secondary School Warnow.

In this trekking expedition students and accompanying teachers will cover a distance of 9- Kilometers and explore the scenic areas of Jabdi, Tal, Wontwari, and Rang, during the day-long trekking programme.

VC-DDC while addressing students and teachers exhorted them to take full benefits of trekking expedition as it has a varied scope.

He said apart from physical development, the trekking develops a sense of togetherness among the students. He said that such events will also boost the local tourism of Lolab.

Principal Boys Higher Secondary School Warnow, Abdul Qayoom Khatana; District Youth Service and Sports Officer (DYSSO) Kupwara, Zahoor Ahmad Wani and other teaching staff were present on the occasion.
