The District Level RSETI Advisory Committee (DLRAC) meeting was held here today with District Development Commissioner (DDC) Shopian, Faz Lul Haseeb in chair to review the performance of Jammu and Kashmir Rural Self Employment Training Institute (RSETI).

Director RSETI Shopian, Nazir Ahmed Bandh briefed the chair about the functioning of the Institute and put forth a comprehensive note on its functioning.

 

He briefed the house about the progress of RSETI, for the quarter ended 31st March, 2022-23.

 

The DDC stressed upon better coordination among line departments for imparting the training programmes related to various self employment activities in the district.

 

He impressed upon the concerned of RSETI to introduce and diversify the courses which are in consonance with the District Skill Development Plan. He also stressed the concerned to conduct a survey of the district for a unified skill development plan and held more and more awareness programmes to motivate the unemployed youth to generate employment for themselves and others too.

 

The meeting was informed that during the year 2022 -23, a total of 441 candidates were imparted training, comprising 15 batches against a target of 400 candidates.

 

All the line departments and banks were asked to provide credit linkage to the candidates trained by RSETI who want to pursue business ventures.

 

On this occasion, two successful entrepreneurs in women tailoring also expressed their satisfaction saying that by establishing their Tailoring Units and availing of loan facilities, they were able to earn 30000 monthly to earn their livelihood and also to generate employment avenues for others also.

 

The DDC directed the concerned to encourage such beneficiaries by providing them each and every possible help so that they may be able to give fillip to their established units.

 

The meeting was attended by the Cluster Officer, JK Bank Bashir Ahmed Bhat, Lead District Manager, Farooq Ahmed Bhat, Officers from line departments and other officials of various banks.
