ARTO Reasi challans 115 vehicles

  A Team led by ARTO Reasi today conducted an enforcement drive on the Moori route. During the drive the team checked 115 vehicles.

As many as 62 vehicles were found to be operating in contravention of various provisions of the Motor Vehicles Act and were issued challans.

An amount of Rs 1,47,000  fine was realized on the spot and Rs 2,76,000 is expected to be realised out of challan imposed. 56/193, 194 (1), 194A, 194B, 66/192, 177, 192A, 181 and 03 sleeper coaches and 01 mini bus were seized.

The drive specifically targeted overloading and overcharging in vehicles and aimed to raise awareness among vehicle operators.

An awareness camp on road safety norms and  a pledge was organised for Auto Drivers plying in Katra with their union president not to overcharge from any yatris, obey the road safety norms like not to drive Autos without valid documents. One week time was given to keep their document intact and after that strict action under MVD Act and rules thereof will be taken for any violation.

By focusing on overloading and overcharging, the team aimed to prevent accidents and create awareness among vehicle operators about the importance of adhering to traffic rules.

Stressing on following safety rules, the Team ARTO Reasi educated the drivers about the significance of wearing seat-belts; avoiding use of mobile phones, drug consumption and other distractions while driving.
