SP College organises Plantation & Cleanliness drives

P. G. Department of Environmental Science, Sri Pratap College, Srinagar organised large scale plantation and cleanliness drives today within the college campus under Mission LiFE programme and World Environment Week 2023 celebrations.

The events attracted huge participation from students and faculty alike.

The drive was lead by the college Principal Prof. (Dr.) Ghulam Jeelani Qureshi who emphasised upon the importance of tree plantation for a greener world and to combat climate change.

The programme coordinators Prof. Shahid Ahmad Wani and Dr. Qazi Ashiq Hussain supervised the day long programme and guided the students in carrying out the tree plantation and the cleanliness drive in the campus.

Environmental awareness campaigns in groups were conducted and students were asked to adopt a more environmentally responsible behaviour for checking the menace of plastic pollution.

Other members of the organising committee including Dr. Mansha Nisar, Dr. Gowhar Hamid Dar and Prof. Rouf Ahmad Farooqi were present on the occasion and actively took part in the proceedings of the programme.

Special invitees on the occasion Prof. Rabia Ahmad and Prof. Roohi Tariq Khan took part in the drive and encouraged students for participating in such programmes to create a sustainable world for the present and the successive generations.
